Best SG version so far - Worth every penny!
Tetro Leon Guitar 21.10.2019
Own this guitar for some time now and honestly, I couldn't be any happier!

Very comfortable guitar, the body sits perfectly on your lap and the neck feels amazing!

Very easy to play and as for the tone, there's nothing similar to it! I don't think you will ever be able to find any negative points for this guitar.

Aesthetically, there's nothing better than Gibson's vintage original tuning pegs and the small pick guard - in combination with these horns.

If you own any other double humbucker guitars, it surely can not compare to them - If you do not own any humbucker guitar, you definitely need this one!

Comes with the hard case that every time you open it, the smell reminds you how amazing your guitar is!

Undoubtedly worth the extra money comparing to the standard SG model!

A
Amazing guitar. Much better than the regular Standard SG.
Alkain 23.06.2024
A friend of mine bought the Gibson SG Standard. I tried it and wasn't very impressed. Terrible neck dive, uninspiring sound (it has the same pickups as my Gibson LP Studio). Comes with gigbag instead of hardcase. The best thing about it is the very light weight.
I fancied having an SG because of some of my guitar heroes (especially Bill Janovitz from Buffalo Tom), so I decided to give this one a shot. Wow! The moment I opened the case I was in love. Completely different guitar to the regular standard version. Far superior, in my opinion.
- No neck dive at all: the guitar is perfectly balanced.
- Great sound. I have a Victory V40 Deluxe, and the guitar truly sings.
- So comfortable and easy to play! Much easier than my Les Pauls.
- Slightly heavier than the regular SG Standard: that's probably why it hasn't the neck dive problem. I don't mind the extra weight: it's still lighter than my Les Paul.
Very inspiring. Since I got it I have barely played my Gibson Les Paul Standard (my main guitar until now). I'm in love with this guitar.
For the small price difference, I totally recommend this one over the regular SG Standard model.

Accurate reproduction of 60s Guitar
Mando 45 08.04.2020
I have wanted an Gibson SG since its introduction in the 60s and now am able to add it to my collection of top end guitars.
The guitar is well made with quality materials, relatively light weight and comfortable to play.
The set up of the guitar left something to be desired which required me to re-set the truss rod to get the right dip.
The nut was poorly finished and needed rework and it really need replacing.
The string hight was so low on the trebble side that the strings were buzzing all the way up the fingerboard.
The intonation was way out and I had to reverse all of the saddles to get it to plat in tune.
The finish on the frets and fingerboard is good and of the quality you would expect on a guitar of this cost.and the tuners are of a good quality also.
The body finish is good with the quality of the mahogany showing through and the joint impossible to see.
The guitar case provided is of excellent quality and protects the guitar well.
The sound quality is OK and the pick ups reasonable but not as good as my PRS SE Custom which is a better guitar.

K
Well, it's a Gibson SG, and it's a very good one!
KoenraadDC 24.06.2023
The problem with most SG's is that the head drops like a stone, in this one not so much (of course it drops a bit) so the playability is superb! Important notice is that it has an excellent circuit inside (orange drop capacitors) and not the PCB you find in a lot of, even expensive Gibson guitars. This is especially important if you want to change the pickups. Which is exactly what I did on this one, replaced them with Seymour Duncan High Voltage pickups which turn this guitar into a rock'n roll monster!
