I play mostly metal and I was looking for string with nice midrange punch. The Bass Boomers seem to have it.
The strings look well made. Tension-wise they feel pretty even, and the B string has a very defined sound, even on my 34" jazz bass. Can't say anything about their uselful lifespan because I haven't used them for that long, but they do seem to sound good even after a month or so, which is pretty nice.
The only downside was that they are too light. Because of that, I'm considering a return to Rotosounds. Wish GHS produced Boomers with the following gauges - 40-60-80-100-130. That would have been my dream set.
Overall, GHS Bass Boomers are my second favorite strings and the best nickel wound ones that I've played.
