Gator GC-335 Guitar ABS Case
Daniel7436 03.02.2015
Gator GC-335 Guitar ABS Case - for 335 type guitars.

I use it to carry my Sunburst Aria Pro II TA60 and its very happy in there. The inner space is reported to allow guitars with dimensions: body length: 571,5mm, body height: 114,3mm, lower bout width: 419,1mm, middle bout width: 279,4mm, upper bout width: 330,2mm, overall length: 1079,5mm. So you can also include single cut semiacoustics, 339 types as well as 335/355 types.

The ABS makes the case very sturdy, its the same material used for modern suitcases and they stand up to air travel so I guess it should be suitable as a flight case. For cushioning inside there is EPS foam and a deep plush lining protects the guitar from scratches. At this price it is definitely worthwhile buying this than a slightly cheaper gigbag for protecting those fragile semiacoustics!

It includes an accessory compartment and chrome plated lockable latches for security. It's a little heavy at 5,21Kg, but that is to be expected for its size which is: 1195,1mm, exterior width: thomann 482,6mm, exterior height: 205,0mm.

If you value your semiacoustic, for either transport or storage, this is a great quality product and a very competitive price.

P
A case with attitude?
Pete6590 06.02.2014
All to often you part with a lot of money for a guitar and you either have to add more money to the deal to buy a case or, as in many cases (!) the case supplied with the guitar isn't up to the job of a gigging musician. The solution? Buy a Gator case. These cases are very well made, have sturdy hingers and catches, a roughy handle and neatly finished metal binding. This case will stand up to the knocks and shocks of gigging rather than your guitar. makes sense to me!

J
Fits A Oscar Schmidt Semi-Hollow
Jerec 04.02.2020
Bought the case for my Oscar Schmidt "Spirit" and, with an extra little padding on the body (from a shirt), it fits like a glove. Strong ABS exterior and soft interior. Would recommend

C
very tough quality case
Chris1648 14.10.2015
I purchased this for a guild starfire with a bigsby and it fits quite well. I had to pack with a couple of towels but now it is now snug.

The case is quite large and wider than most 335 cases, so could be a good option if your guitar is wider than standard.

The item arrived very quickly and for the money was good value. I would not hesitate to buy another Gator case if I needed another guitar case.

The body is black ABS plastic and the interior is padded with what feels like thick polystyrene with fur material over the top. I'm sure it would stand a tour or protect well on a plane flight.

EM
OK for a car but not for a van full of band gear!
Eugene M. 29.01.2019
I think this case is a bit on the light side, the ABS case walls are quite thin compared to others I have ( they cost more to be fair). I would find it fine for going to gigs with your own gear in the car but if you are heading off with 5 or 6 band mates and heavy PA gear, amps etc are being loaded in at the end of the night when everyone just wants to get home you would be better with a heavy duty case, but for the car or heading to a practice it is good enough. It is a good price and to be fair a full flight case is more expensive but thomann sell good one of these good value too. It is fine for most applications but if you think it may get knocked about in a van, I would advise a full flight Harley Benton or thomann one.

Nice

I got this case for my ESP Xtone semihollow( with bigsby) and it fits in there. You will need something soft to put under it tho to lift it up a little. Finding a case for those guitars is a pain so I hope this review helps.

J
High quality case with flaws
John84 27.12.2018
This sturdy ABS case fits my Epiphone Dot like a glove. The interior is well padded with soft plush material.
There is however one problem. The lid doesn't always stay open by itself so it fell close on my guitar several times when taking the guitar in or out. The edges are aluminium so it is easy to damage the guitar when it falls shut.
The case is also very bulky. On the outside it looks like it could hold a full size acoustic guitar. I'd prefer it a bit slimmer.

Epiphone Sheraton needed a good touring case!
Anonymous 18.11.2016
I use it for my Epiphone Sheraton (MIJ).

Before that case i had other manufacturers cases for this guitar, but the all broke on the road.
The others had the first issue with the locks and hinges - this works fine it closes smooth, everything works fine after almost a year of touring. It keeps the guitar safe.

It looks good, and in my opinion the price is fine.

A
Great buy
Alexander367 18.03.2015
I have bought two of these cases from Thomann and find them as hard as nails. They are well used not just to keep my guitars nice and safe in the house, so if you are looking for a great value hard case this is the one that I would go for, as well as the big discount from Thomann. I have bought a lot of my gear from this company an as yet I have NEVER been let down.

EI
DO NOT BUY
Evgeny Ivanov 22.11.2019
This hard case only has disadvantages.
I have six very different semiacoustics and it does not work with any of them.
- it is very large. Ridiculously oversized
- very heavy
- when I close the case it presses on the headstock
- the neck joint area is NOT supported from below.

This hard case is just dangerous for the guitar, DO NOT BUY it.
