Great but not high output for me
MacFurax 23.03.2018
Reading the previous reviews I select this set to update pickups on my Fender (Squier) Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 70, hopping for more output.

But look's like the stock pickups of the Vintage modified Jazz Bass are already hot.

This pickup didn't give me more juce, but a small bit less.
To my ear they sound more detailed and singing compared to stock ones.

So not a big change for me, which is good concerning Squier stock quality :-)

I will expriment with other pickups later.

cons
- hotter output is not there
- expensive

UPDATE : 06 August 2018

I have compared these with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Jazz bass Set, on the same instrument. And finally keep the CS60Jazz, they are less hot but wider and more detailed on my bass.

The quarter pound was really great, Lot of output, but sound dry and bite narrow on my bass.

Classic Fender, old school jazz sound
aZu 12.11.2020
Classic Fender, old school jazz sound, with an excellent lows component, balanced mids and clear, well defined trebles (but not too crackling).

Mellow and balanced sound, good output level and dynamic responsive.
Fender 60s jazz bass, what else? If you know it and like it, go for it and enjoy!

Big improvement
Bosil 25.08.2021
Put this in my 60s classic Fender Jazz Bass (MiM). Really improved the sound. Quality seemed great. I installed them with an Obisidian Wire kit, which worked really well and didn't require any soldering.

Perfect.

There is nothing more to say. The build quality is very good and the sound is exacly what expected.

I've installed it on a cheap bass and made it way better. No one would believe what I've payed for all of it.

I would buy it again and recommend it for sure!

I'm happy
PSY666 06.10.2014
as a few guys said before, these are good sounding PUs. I have nothing to compare them with, I built them into the cheapest J-bass by Fender, wired both straight to output. Works great and sounds good to me. They didn't fit perfectly btw. I had to drilll out the body a bit, 2mm or something. It's my backup instrument, I don't play it (much).

Fender Custom Shop 60s Jazz Bass Pickup Set
Anonymous 29.07.2015
Ordered these to replace the stock pickups in my 2009 Fender Highway One Jazz bass. Easy to install with a soldering iron, and the sound improvement is excellent -- tighter bass, more output overall and better balance between the strings.

Really pleased I made this upgrade, the bass now plays as well as some American Standard basses I have tried. Highly recommended.

Good value
Nigel3954 30.05.2014
I bought these to replace the original pickups on a Chinese Jazz Bass copy which plays well but lacked good electronics. I'm pleased - big rich sound with decent volume, a significant step up. I'm more an 'old school' player and value a warm and defined fingerstyle tone, but the pickups are also great for the occasional slap and plectrum stuff I do.

Note that not all Jazz-style basses have the same dimensions: while I've no doubt these will drop straight into a genuine Fender, my bass needed about a 2mm (and effectively invisible) adjustment to the scratchplate to accommodate the neck pickup's mounting lugs.

Classic Fender sound
Anonymous 05.09.2014
In this kit you get one neck pickup, a bridge pickup, brass plates for each pickup for shielding of the pickup routing and mounting screws. The finish of the pickups is excellent, the have a nice boutique feel and it´s also nice with the clothed wire.

Easy too install, just drop them in and solder, and then you are ready to go. The sound is classic Fender, bright and a nice steady bottom. I compared them with the pickups I swapped out, which are 90`s Fender Japan pickups and the impression is that the tone is similar, although the CS60 has a more expensive shimmer to the sound and are better built. In my view the pickups has to compliment the tone of the bass, the tone of the wood and strings and not alter the sound too much. I want the pickups to pickup the sound that the bass has and make just a little bit prettier and this kit does just that. There are more spectacular pickups on the market that has their own sound, like DiMarzio Model J´s with their fat bottom and mellow high end, but has not the classic sound that these has. So if you want a great classic Fender sound for your bass, this kit will do the trick.

Nice pickups
Medvedotron 01.03.2019
I was replacing original Fender Mexico fretless Jazz bass pickups for these. The sound is punchier and clearer compared to previous ones and the build quality is way nicer. But honestly if you don't care about nicer build or you damaged original pickups I don't think it's worth the upgrade sound-wise.
