Awesome LP Goldtop under €550
Hugo FM 07.09.2020
Got this guitar today and the overall quality for the price is great.

The aesthetic is awesome, the electronics don't need any upgrades and the pickups are a matter of taste. This is a good replica of a PAF type of pickup, maybe I'll go with a couple of Suhr Aldridge for a more aggressive sound\output, but I don't know yet. I'll try this for a couple of months. And I really love the 50's neck!

On the downside, there's one or two spots where the quality of the finish could be better but Its a <€550 guitar... so nothing that i wasn't expecting. Also the setup could be better, mine came with the low E fretting all over, so I need to tweek it a little bit.

But if you want a LP Goldtop without spending a lot a € and without feeling you need to spend big bucks on modding\upgrading... This is It!

Genial Epiphone y genial Thomann

M
Great guitar
Mancunian 02.01.2023
Warning, i might be a bit biased because i always wanted a gold top.

First off, this is a heavy guitar, but it's the good kind of heavy. It has sustain for days! The initial setup is OK, it's playable, the strings are not set up to play slide guitar, and the intonation is also OK. When i find some time though, i'll do a proper setup, but out of the box for this kind of money, no complaints.

The neck feels good and straight, not alot of neck wobble when playing so the guitar stays in tune very well. Frets are just a tiny bit sharp, but some rounding of the ends will solve this. Tuners are also good for the money.

The overall finish is realy on point. No checks in the finish, no imperfections, just a beautifull gold metalic painjob and the dark mahogany wood on the rear and sides of the guitar. Only thing i could find was the pick guard. It's a little but rough aroubd the edges, but not much!

Overall, very happy. If i went back in time knowing what i know now, i would buy it again without any hesitation.

It's a great guitar, I was surprised with the quality of the production. I don't have enough experience to judge the sound quality, but it feels solid and heavy almost like the Gibson original.
