Awesome!!!
Daniele Lupo 31.03.2018
The plan was taking out the Juggernauts from my TE 407 and putting the old EMG 707 81-7 in it, but all the soldering would have been a time taking operation which I was not so willing to go through.
Check quickly with EMG/Thomann stuff, got this kit recommended and then I bought it. Took a couple of minutes to figure out the right connections and then in 5 minutes it was all over.

The sound is amazing, absolutely clean, no cracks no weird interference, nothing, just your guitar, crystal clear as it never was.

The quality of the pieces is great, sturdy and well made, definitely quality components. They are super easy to install and connect, and the EMG support will help you if you run into whatever trouble, giving you the best suggestions on how to solve your issues.

Also thumbs up to the Thomann Team, what a service this guys offer!!! They definitely deserve the fame and the trust we affictionated customers give them!!!

Solderless Kit - Easy!
VXTfour 22.12.2017
I actually used this kit to fit some EMG 81/85s to a Harley Benton SC Custom (Ocean Flame). As a side note, this really brought the guitar to life for the music that I play and I would really recommend it!

Quality: It's pieces of wire with connectors on the end. They are well connected... not sure what else I can say about those. The potentiometers have little boards on the back with legs to slot them on to. The pots feel good, they are easy to turn, not much weight on them.

Sound: Well, the pots work perfectly and the wire is thick enough to make me think that it is of good quality. When paired up with the EMG 81/85 set, it sounds awesome. I couldn't tell that the joints were not soldered, no cracking of disconnects. They have not become detached even though the playing has been rather.... vigorous.

PROS: Super easy and fast to fit. The cables just slide onto the connectors and the instructions are in colour and are of great quality. You can see which way round the connectors go and it has clear wiring diagrams for multiple configurations. Single Volume, Volume Tone, Volume Tone Tone etc.

CONS: It's quite expensive for a few pieces of wire and some pots, but if you were worried about price, I'm assuming you would just solder all of the wiring. This is about ease of install and being able to swap out different pickups without soldering a thing!

C
Very comfortable kit.
Chistyakk 28.04.2021
Really great thing!!!
It makes changing of pickups very comfortable. Just plug in which you want without soldering.
Only one minus is the black wire (ground) from Jack to bus is too short for ESP LTD Eclipse 1000. In my case i had to use solder iron to make it lengthier then it was.

P
EMG quality
Panos_Oikonomo 20.06.2019
Wanted to transplant EMG pickups in my Epiphone Explorer.
The kit is so simple and the instructions are so good, you basically can't do anything wrong.
1 volume and 1 tone config no problem.
2 volume and 1 tone no problem again.
1 volume and 2 tone I guess is again doable.
And of course 2 volume and 2 tone.
It's a must have if you want to install EMG's, (i think also Fishman kinda works) quality pots and jack with no soldering at all.

P
Must have EMG upgrade
Philip669 15.06.2013
I've Played EMG pickups for around 23 year now & they are just outstanding.
The upgrades & accessories they offer are second to none.
I have had soldered versions & solderless over time.
My current ESP guitar came with the old soldered type EMG 81 & 60.
I find the control cavity to look untidy with soldered connections & a pain re-solder if theres any problems.
so i decided to look for a EMG solderless kit to add to my guitar.
It took me less than 15 minutes to install the full solderless kit in a two pickup guitar. The kit comes with easy to follow instructions & images on the different type of guitar connections, anyone could do this themselves do not pay extra to get a reapir shop to fit this kit, its so simple!
I had the 3 way toggle switch pre-soldered ready to install at this time EMG don not offer a solderless 3 way toggle but im confident that there will be one designed in the near future.
It was just a case of attaching the wires from the toggle switch to the Awesome invention pickup Buss that comes with the kit, Just screw down the four wires from the toggle to the Buss in the appropriate slots & hey presto the guitar is ready to go. Just clip on your 9 Volt battery & power it up!!!
EMG are the best at what they do they offer guitarists so many options with all the accessories & upgrades that they continue to bring out, This solderless kit is one of the best inventions they have ever designed.
As always Thomann is the best to go to in europe for anything.
The price of this kit from Thomann is half the price that a dealer in the UK charges.
So i would highly recommend upgrading to a solderless kit if you have the old style soldered EMG's & buy from thomann they are the best out there for service & delivery.
Took basically one day from ordering to delivery to me in the UK. Now that is what i call top notch service!

Good
Dolan 12.09.2017
I bought these after getting an EMG ZW Set second hand, and the pickup in/out bus was missing, so I had to buy a new one. I called Thomann to ask if I could just buy the bus seperately, but EMG only sells them in these wiring kits. I had more than enough nuts and washers to work with as well, so i properly adjusted the pots too. Overall great quality

Worked great in my Gibson V
Anonymous 26.02.2015
I bought this wiring kit to use with a used EMG 81/60 set that i picked up to install in a Gibson Flying V.
The solderless wiring kit is very simple to use, I had to ditch having a tone control because the control cavity in the V is quite small so I needed extra space to fit the battery and wiring bus.
All the connections feel solid, I have no issue with this vs a soldered connection, in fact I actually prefer this method, not only for the time saving but it's much more consistent for someone who is an OK at best solderer....
I would definitely use this system again, and the EMGs sound fantastic, and Thomann was by far the best price I saw anywhere for this kit.
