Best acoustic strings on the planet.
GraemeSPa 02.12.2017
I like these strings. The coating extends the life of the wound strings and they keep their tone far longer than conventional uncoated strings. The overall covering keeps dirt from the string winding - this is what kills the tone. I was a bit apprehensive about the price, but they last 3 - 4 times longer - and there is the occasional 3 for 2 offer. They are nice and easy on the fingers too. Over my fifty years of guitar playing I have tried many other brands of acoustic strings, big name and budget. Some were great, some were awful, but nothing comes close to maintaining a good tone for a long time like Elixirs. I put these strings on all four of my acoustic guitars - I wouldn't have anything else.

Good price - excellent quality
René1591 19.11.2016
I've used this kind of strings for around 5 years. They are great! They keep "the sound of new strings" much longer than regular uncoated strings, and I don't feel like I have to put on new strings every other week. They don't break easily either unless you are really abusive of your strings.
The price is higher than most regular strings, so it is quite an expensive set of strings. When you buy in 3-packs it is cheaper than buying them in single sets. They do last longer though, and in the end I think it's cheaper than regular strings for most uses.
I you actually like the sound of "dull sounding" strings buy something else. If you want as much top end as is even posible, buy something else and buy new ones every week. If you want a set of good sounding strings that will sound good for a long time buy these.

Unique, everlasting reliable
Anonymous 25.10.2016
I've been using those strings for a very long time and they are beyond amazing!
The tone is beautiful; so full of clarity, sustain and deep, yet very tight, lows. They last me about a month of really intense playing which is way more than other brands. How much longer? 5-6 time longer yep...no joke in that.
When you see other brands claiming that their strings can last very long and have a great tone the truth is that they are playable for the time given in advertisement but the tone is gone in less than a week, but that's definitely not the case with elixir!
Considering that you can have 3 packs of strings in a price of about 2 there's no point in procrastination!!!! hurry up and buy some (but don't forget to a few packs for me :D)

LOVE these strings! Only strings for my acoustic guitars.
Young-Bin 16.02.2016
First of all...
I ONLY use Elixir Nanoweb Coated strings for acoustic guitar. No exceptions. I have been using these strings for 5 years and until now I have not found any discomfort and complaints about them.
The reason being is that the tone lasts a very long time and the sound just SPARKLES! And the feel of these strings are just great! Your finger just slides into where you want them to be with no effort.
For those who strum a lot and want a big fat sound from your acoustic get .12 gauge strings.
For those who want to do a bit of leads and slight bendings but still have a nice fat sound get .11 gauge strings!
If you want a bright tone with good attack get the 80/20 Bronze.
If you want a nice warm tone to complement your Martin-like sounds get the Phosphor bronze pack.
The only thing that might be a problem is the price. These are much more expensive than other strings BUT! it is worth it in the long run because you only have to change these strings after 3 months if you are a constant player.
Normal strings will rust and break within a month so think of it as an investment.
I recommend the use of these to ANYONE who plays the acoustic guitar.

Best acoustic guitar strings on the market
Kimi 06.10.2015
These elixir strings are by far the most reliable and consistent set of acoustic strings. The bronze version gives a bit more top end and stability at the bottom strings when compared to the phosphor bronze version. Both strings are good though. You need to find what is the best alternative for your playing style. With the thin coating the feel of the string is a bit different when compared to an uncoated string but the pure quality and consistency of the sound night after night really makes up for the difference in feel. And after a few sets you don't even want to play uncoated strings anymore. I have used these strings both on stage and in studio and the strings deliver on both occasions. I think the best feature of these strings is the fact you do get the same sound every night and every take without having to change the strings every day. I would highly recommend these strings to anyone who plays acoustic on a daily basis and loves the crisp sound of new strings. If you want to have the dull and played in sound you should go with the uncoated strings. I have played elixir strings for about three years and maybe 250 shows and I've broken only one string!

Usable on Octave Mandolin
Andy Fereday 03.01.2024
I bought these for an octave mandolin as no-one seems to make coated mandolin strings. I had to loop the strings through the ball at the end to create a loop, and while not perfect, it works. The G and D strings were a bit too thick to fit the tight spacing at the tailpiece, but I eventually managed to get them to fit by using a set of craft pliers to carefully shape them. My fingers can tarnish strings in a single session, so I wanted something that would last a little longer and these are an improvement over some of the other strings I've tried. They're about the right length for my Eastman octave mandolin too, so a useable alternative.
