I was looking for a solution to reduce the size of my rig for solo gigs and open mics. I needed a mixer ideally that fitted on my board with 4 inputs and had onboard effects.
The Gigmix version was a possible but what made me decide on the Stompmix was the ability to use a couple of condenser mics with the 48v phantom power for acoustic gigs.

There is a small but functional colour display in the centre of the pedal surrounded by multifunction knobs and buttons. It took me about 5 minutes to figure it out without looking at the manual.

All channels have reverb, EQ, pan, compressor, gate, notch, filter and phase invert. Only one channel can have delay applied at any one time which for me is on the vocal mic channel.

It has 2 main outputs (L&R) that are standard TRS that I run to a couple of Bose S1’s. There is also a 3.5mm headphone / stereo output which is the aux mix output. So if you have a couple of small powered monitors in stereo with a “Y” cable you can get a well balanced sound on stage. The only con with the Stompmix and Gigmix is there’s no reverb on the aux mix but as the delay IS present in the aux mix it’s not a big deal. Just to note, there is also a pan control for the aux mix so you can get a nice separation/ stereo image in your monitors.

Bottom Line
Great sound, very intuitive controls, all the parameter adjustments you need to get a polished mix very quickly through any FOH in a strange venue. I would definitely recommend this small, very well built unit to anyone.

Note - 18 months later - the output jacks are giving intermittent output. The unit hasn’t been abused and lives on my board. In my opinion there needs to be locking nuts on the jacks where they go through the side of the assembly. Although I haven’t looked inside so I don’t void warranty, it appears the jacks may just mount directly onto the PCB. If this is the case, every time jacks are plugged in, the solder joints will be stressed. Going back to Thomann for repair.
