I love these strings!!

I'm a bass player of 8 years and also an Audio Engineer. These are a Bass Player's dream!... very rarely need to be replaced.

They sound fantastic for both finger-picking and also ise with a pick. I have had better sounding strings in the past, but only marginally better.

The main thing I love about these strings though, is that they keep their great tone for a lot longer than other stings I have had previously (both coated and uncoated). I doubt that I'll ever buy anything else to be honest!

Plus they're black, which just looks awesome!

Brilliant! Perfect strings. Main strings on my 6 string bass for the last few years. Great tone and feel. Easy on your hands and great life on them. Don't have to change them that often!

Love these strings

Used DR Extras in a covers band gigging 100+ times a year and only need to change strings maybe 3 times!

They're not quite as bright as a brand new set of steelwounds. I'd describe them as being similar to a set of nickelwound strings which have done one or two gigs - a nice crunchy tone without a harsh top end.

They stay sounding like that for ages and often the only reason for changing is cosmetic as the coloured coating shows wear as time passes and can look a bit unsightly. If you're a pick player, you'll see the coating disappear quickly.

Some of the coated DR strings have a new K3 Dragon Skin coating which I really dislike as I find any excessive sliding on the strings soon sets the fingers burning so I've recently had to abandon these.
