dAndrea PB-Pickguard Red Pearl

Top quality 3 layers pick guard. High end material and beautiful colour effect. Really cool!!
I have mounted it on a Vintage (I mean, the brand) P bass and the dAndrea pickguard did not fit perfectly on the body of the Vintage. So I had to cut a few millimeters of the pickguard to find the right join with the junction of the neck, by also matching the body hole that houses the volume/tones electronics.
dAndrea pickguards perfectly match Fender/Squire guitars and basses, but if you want to mount them on instruments of another brand, minor shape-maching issues could occour.

I have purchased lots of scratchplates and blanks for many different basses that I’ve made and owned, these are surprisingly good looking, they are well made and definitely fit for purpose, and don’t cost silly money like some do. I put it on a fender highway one P bass and it’s a perfect fit, no modifications necessary. I like it that much I’ve purchased a jazz bass version as well, which I wouldn’t have even considered if this wasn’t so nice. So it’s a definite recommendation from me.

Fit perfectly to a 1977 Fender P-bass. Just place the old pickguard over the D'Andrea's and drill the holes for the thumb rest and pickup cover ( if You need 'em )...

Wonderful red pearl pickguard combines beautifully with the dark wine red Harley Benton PJ-4 HTR. Although it fits well, beware that holes in the bass have to be re-drilled and an additional potmeter hole in the pickguard have to be applied.

I bought this pickguard for my MIM Precision bass as a cheap alternative to red tortshell and it was great to discover it comes with shielding! The pickguard is flashy/glossy, so if you want the original vintage Fender tortshell look, this product might not be for you. If you only want a cool red pickguard of good quality and low price, then look no further!

Lookswise it is stunning, it reflects under the light beautifully and overall machining quality is fine on this product.
I've installed it on my Squier Affinity P-Bass PJ OWT IL, and the original pickups from that bass did not want to be inserted into the pickguard just by a hair. Nothing a file can't fix, i've managed to avoid any external damage and fitted the pickups very snuggly.

I ask for a fitting template to Thomann but never received any response, so I took the try, and I was lucky :-)

I got the red pearl to fit on my black American 96 Precision bass, and it was a perfect fit.

Quality is very good, and look great with my black bass. Not vintage but not to spark neither.

Fun, simple and not to expensive way to makeover you bass, like with a smartphone case :-)
