The woven pattern of this particular design is iconic, visible in photographs of many pivotal moments in late-60s rock history. Those straps were Ace straps, and this is as close as you can get to finding a 60s original with no wear. Make no mistake, this strap is the real deal, and dAndrea have done a great job bringing it back.
Aesthetically, it's near enough identical to the original, a lot closer than many other clones and homages get, even ones triple this price or more. This one wears the original "Ace" branding and it's the only modern incarnation I'd consider worthy of doing so.
The cotton weave is accurate, the colours are consistent and true to the original, the detail and precision of the pattern is good. The leather ends are soft and pliable, with cleanly affixed rivets. They aren't super thick, but they are strong, quality leather. The ace badging is properly embossed and filled with metallic gold ink. The leather lining on this strap is white, as the originals were, which creates a very pleasing combination of colours when combined with the reds of the weave. It's also something many of the imitations get wrong - going for black or even light brown on the inside of the strap instead.
If you want a proper, period appropriate strap for a 60s or 70s type guitar, electric, acoustic, or bass; be it original or reissue, or even just a hint of the style of that era, this strap is the place to stop looking. You've found it. It's this one.
