Best strings I know
coffeecup 18.09.2021
I use these strings on my Ibanez RG for the last 5 years. I was using XLs before (for 10 years). The NYXLs last 2 months longer, the intonation stays the same through the whole length of the string. (On XLs the intonation goes after 1 month), they never corrode, have better tuning stability.
The sound is close but not exactly the same. NYXL have brighter high E string. I would say XLs sound better but just a little and depends what you're looking for.

The price is not a problem. They last 2 times longer than XLs.

Oh and the packaging is fantastic!

Daddario NYXL1046-3P

The D'Addario NYXL1046-3P String Set is a unique offering from a renowned string manufacturer that combines high quality sound, durability and ease of use. Here are a few key features and benefits of this set:

Latest NYXL Technology: These strings are made using D'Addario's innovative NYXL technology, which provides high tuning stability, durability, and improved grip on the guitar fingerboard. They also offer a bright and rich sound.

Durable and Tensile Resistant: NYXL1046-3P strings have a reinforced construction that makes them more resistant to stretching and breaking. This is especially important for guitarists who play with an intense style or use vibrato and bends.

Balanced Tone: This set of strings provides a balanced tone with good harmonic structure, making them suitable for a wide range of musical styles, from rock and blues to pop and jazz.

Savings: Buying a set of three strings is usually a better option than buying strings individually. This allows you to save money and have spare strings in case you need them.

Overall, the D'Addario NYXL1046-3P string set is a great choice for guitarists who value sound quality, durability, and tuning stability. They provide a high level of performance and fulfill the needs of even the most demanding musicians.

After many years these are now my "go-to-strings"...
LeonardS 17.08.2019
When testing this set of strings I discovered the following:
1) Very nice tone !
2) More output compared to other nickel-wound strings of same gauge
3) More stretch for extreme bends
4) Keeps retention better over time compared to other strings
5) Easy to play and nice feel
6) Improved tuning stability
7) A pretty long-lasting "new-string-sound"
8) Keeps that "I just changed my strings feel" much longer than regular strings
My conclusion: Going forward the NYXL series will be my favorite set of strings for most of my electric guitars.
Yes, they are considerably more expensive than the standard D'Addario EXL series or similar brands, so it's up to the customer to decide whether those differences or improvements are worth it.

Happy accident

After playing other strings for decades my guitar tech put the NYXL on my preferred live guitar (a Les Paul, top wrapped as always). I first thought he put the wrong gauge on to start with! Balanced tone and the life span of the the NYXL is far better than any other string I've used in the past, the intonation stays better for a longer period of time and, maybe this is a coincidence but, I've so far not broken one single string, after 2 years (and hundreds of gigs - I change strings every 3 gigs btw) of using NYXL's on all my guitars (plus bass guitars). Highly recommend!
