Bright Steel Tone
James K. 24.04.2018
These strings come with the quality I always expect of Daddario, They sound extremely bright and seem to hold their tone longer than most other brands of string, especially for steel strings.
Although these strings do feel slightly textured I found it very quick to get used to the textured feel (I usually play Nickel Strings) and also despite the strings being steel I am noticing no negative effects on my frets.
Overall I will purchase these strings again for their fantastically bright piano like tone (albeit slightly more agressive sounding).

After years of searching...
Anonymous 08.06.2016
... I finally have the sound I've lusted for.

Bright, growly, ringing tones that cut through the mix. Great for metal (Pantera, Megadeth et al), or Stoner Rock.

Mine were fitted to an old Peavey Grind that I've upgraded over the years. That bass has always sounded muddy and flat and I've always struggled to brighten it up, as a result, I haven't really enjoyed playing it. It now has a new lease of life. I'm very, very impressed at how well this bass responded to these strings.

I also have a set fitted to my Jackson David Ellefson Kelly Bird and they sound great on there too. For the same bright, growly reasons.

These strings are a nice addition to any 'rock' bass.

Daddario EPS170 Bass Guitar Strings

If you like the bright tone of new strings and the deep bottom end then these are your new strings. They have a great tone throughout the sound spectrum with even tone and balance between the different strings. They keep their super brightness for awhile and then mellow out to a bright tone. My last set of strings has lasted me 3 months, and my bass is due for a new set. This is with a lot of practices and live gigs with tons of sweat on them and a quick wipe down afterwards. I have found my permanent strings. Through my years of playing I have tried every string maker out there and D'Addario are my favorites due to their consistency between each set of strings, tone, price, and easy on the fingers while playing.I wish that I could get an endorsement from D'Addario.

If you are a funk bas man, then this is maybe a set you need to try.

My preferred strings to use
Anonymous 30.01.2016
I have gone through using many different types of strings before but as soon as I changed to these I haven't looked back. They feel very nice to play with fingers and have a great sharpness when played with a pick too. They give a great bright tone while also keeping a nice low end to them on the E&A strings. They sound great in the studio when put on fresh.

Good strings
PhilM 17.02.2015
I find they last longer then other brands that I have used. They don't seem to break as easy compared to others.
They come in a sealed package that is handy. Might be cool if each string was separately wrapped. To keep them fresh if you only need to use one string. However I usually replace the whole set at once anyway so not a big problem. I would recommend these and I will definitely keep using them myself.

Very nice strings
Steffen5240 14.02.2014
I was searching for strings that have a long life and a long time of brilliance. I heard from Janek Gwizdala that he uses this strings and bought them. In the first days the brilliance is very high, perfect for harmonic playing. But after a week of playing the strings show it real sound. It’s perfect for Slapping technique(Marcus Miller Sound) or for every other technique like Tapping. The cost are very low and the lifetime for me are half an year whats very good.

Daddario EPS170 Bass Guitar Strings
Afka 10.06.2018
These strings are the best for me! They just sound so good! Very clear and easy to play! And they last for long time. For that price they are just amazing! I use only Daddario strings for my Fender Jazz Bass almost 30 years already, I tried the other strings but no, Daddario is the best! Thank you!

Best stainless steel strings
Haroldas Liumparas 31.08.2022
I have hands dermatitis, so my hands reacts badly to nickel wound strings. The best solution is stainless steel strings. Strings from other manufacturers (like ernie ball) sound dull, dark. These ones have very powerful highs and lows, easy to bend, so now my guitars sound even better :)
