I used these on my Hofner Ignition Bass.
They are warm sounding and have that great flatwound feel.
My one complaint would be the price but all flatwound bass strings are expensive, these are at the higher end of the price scale.
Daddario are always excellent quality so you can rely on them for all your string needs.

Smooth warm sound!
Random User 12.10.2018
Bought these strings for my Jaguar shortscale bass and had it for some time now. I love the deep and warm sound of these strings, they are smooth to touch although they feel kind of sticky (they are not as smooth as I expected) but it causes no problems. They cut through the mix well and are perfect for someone looking for a deep vintage sound.

A
The best bass strings for a true short scale
Anonymous 11.01.2016
Using these strings since long time and have never lost bright and warm sound.
Set on different electric basses, such as Epi Viola, Hamer Slammer, Fender Rascal, etc.
Warning, keep an eye on the length of your bass before buy them.
Depending on bass type, the sound is slightly different but kept a pitch, that many would call it 'vintage' in this time.
I prefer playing with a pick, but still with fingers the feeling is much more on bass tones.
Overall, what I love of these strings is the sensation of slipping way with my fingers on the neck. And I guess they have influenced my bass playing style.
Strongly recommended.

B
Bright flatwounds
BrunoTB 06.03.2023
I tried these flatwounds because I heard so many people rave about them.
They definitely look like high quality strings, but I didn't like the brightness of sound compared to La Bella 760s and they didn't feel as silky smooth like the La Bellas either.
If you are used to roundwounds and would like to switch to flats without losing too much brightness, this might be the string for you.

Vintage Tone
Anonymous 18.05.2016
I put these flats on my Gibson SG bass and boy what versatile strings these are. Not only can you get a mellow 60s R&B sound from them but unlike other flats these can really growl and create a harsher sound if needs be. I highly recommend these.

Always reliable quality from Daddario. Wish they did a hybrid set of 40-100 though.
HalfManHalfGear 29.07.2018
Like all their strings, bass and guitar, these are consistently great and don't cost the earth. I wish they had a hybrid set in 40, 60, 80, 100 gauges, but I have found a work around (albeit expensive). I just use the 100 and 80 with a 60 and 40 from a standard 34" set -as these are not too thick to go through the tuner posts and the extra length can just simply be cut off. Does mean I'm amassing a nice and useless collection of short scale 45 and 65 strings though....wonder if I'll ever find a buyer or use for them!

Not suited for Mustang Bass

This strings are too short for a Mustang bass (chords through body Bass). Buy Medium strings (M) instead.

W
Transformed by Squier Jaguar Short Scale
WozaPT 19.04.2018
I had these strings fitted by Thomann to replace the stock strings on my Squier Jaguar Vintage Modified Special SS before delivery as the general consensus is that the stock strings are the main weak point on these guitars.

I absolutely love the feel of flat wound strings and detest string squeak which they of course eliminate. For the music I play their tone works great but of course that may not work for every taste. They have certainly made the Squier feel and play like an instrument way above its price range
