My favorite plate reverb pedal with tasty preamp
vladg 05.06.2017
First of all, the reverb sound reminds me UAD EMT 140 and the audio quality is competitive with Strymon pedals. Usually plate reverbs are for vocals but this pedal works great both for clean and overdriven guitar sounds adding short invisible room like tones or bathroom like wall of sound in extremes. ?Time? knob controls the length of reverb tail. ?Pre-delay? allows you to use this reverb as slapback echo when reverb time set to short. ?Mix? knob sets the level of reverb sound without affecting dry signal level, which I like a lot. ?High pass? allows you to balance reverb sound between invisible or bathroom like. I usually set it at 3 o?clock for ?invisible? side.

This pedal has coloring preamp circuit, which affects both wet and dry signal. You can use this pedal as very cool boost pedal (without any reverb) if you set ?Vol? to maximum and ?Mix? to zero! Also the preamp sound depends on input voltage! Try 9, 12, 15 and 18 volts. My favorite is 12 volts, it gives the most neutral coloration.

The pedal has internal switch to change bypass in ?soft? mode (default) or in ?true bypass? mode. Unfortunately in ?soft? mode reverb signal is leaked into the output even if mix control set to zero and also I had nasty feedbacks in extreme positions so I switched it to ?true bypass?. Besides this the pedal operates flawlessly already for several months and earned its place on my Pedaltrain Nano pedalboard. It can be used as reverb, slapback delay and booster preamp pedal.

The reverb implementation is digital of course but probably due to preamp circuit the pedal sounds very smooth and analog.

The reverb of the 60s/70s records - bright and texture to your tone!
Symploke_ 21.04.2020
I mainly use it to get the Tony Iommi sound in his first Black Sabbath albums. It adds to my P90 pickups the exact amount of bright and texture for that big and gorgeous tone.
It works from 9 to 18 volts and includes a internal switch to be true bypass or buffered. The pedal includes a boost circuit, so it can be used like a little booster and buffer pedal.
Other nice features are a high pass filter (high pass pot), pre-delay and mixer for dry and reverb signals.
The buffered mode allows an unchanged infinite reverb (quite ambient/dream) setting the time pot to max when switching off with the foot switcher.
Ah, obviously, it's a digital delay.

insanely good

I grown up listening legendary records from 60s and 70s most of the immortals use emt 140, when you play this pedal you can see why, if your after a fancy modern ambient stuff maybe you should look elsewhere but if you want to get close to the real deal do not hesitate, such a musical and natural sounding reverb

Simply brilliant
Tales of a Talisman 02.08.2023
This is just one of those pedals that got stuck to my board a few years ago and is not leaving it ever.
This is my second buy, as a gift for a friend (that keeps asking for mine).
Excellent and unique. Dont forget the micro switches inside for a bit extra customisation.

m
5* plate reverb.
mrodrigues 02.04.2018
I was kind of worried if it would be a source of some kind of noise in my setup as i don't use pedals often and get my tone mostly from my amp, it's actually dead silent when i'm not playing. I use it on the effects loop of a Marshall 2525 mainly with very subtle settings as a "allways on" effect, but it can get pretty strong on your signal if dialed with extreme settings. Some pedals get a little bit ou of hand when dialed at extremes or can get some unusable tones but this is really quite something as almost every setting sounds nice. It's very intuitive and easy to ajust a volume match when it's on or off. No manual on the box or online although it's probably not necessary. The build quality is really nice and looks good with my silver jube!
