what a waste of time

I will not write so long, just my short experience with the DT880 Pro Black Edition.

For the 170 Euro paid, this headset is really very bad, I could not say the same about them if I pay 50 Euros, but for 169 Euros, this is a waste of time and money.

First. Tragekomfort. Really terrible. It is a hard headset, no flexibility built to feel good with it. It presses hard to your head, it does not disturb the ear but the head as a whole. The cable is really terrible. It is fixed with the headset, you can not change it in case it breaks. It is a telephone type of cable, very disturbing if you have hair in your body, it pulls it and it pulls the sound interface if you use it from 2 meters away from the audio interface. The metal that holds the caps or cans are like a knife, too thin made which makes it feel like you are holding a knife by the edges! Well, nothing is positive from my perspective about the confort of these cans. JUST TERRIBLE BAD MADE!

Sound: Come on guys! This is a joke! Many people after paying so much feel forced to write a possitive review about a product that does not worth it! This is one of the worst hedsets I have ever heard. I must say that I am into music production for more than 40 years and I have had many cans in my long experience. These cans are simply a JOKE. They sound muddy, they color the sound, they are dark sounding, very colored sound, very confusing sound image, there is nothing that I can say nice about this can!

If I start listening my mixes with the DT880 Pro and then I chance to my Presonus HD7, I really wish to stop working for the day. It is like day and night. The presonus HD7 for only 39 Euros sounds a lot better and a lot linear than a 170 Euro Headset. How is that possible? How come does this happens?

IMPORTANT. I own an old Fostex 7-h which are not any more found where ever you look. How come this old set of can are much clearer and more defined one with much more clarity?.

But, I was chocked for having compared with my Presonus HD7, these cans for only 39 Euro beats easily this DT880. More clarity and really very linear. It is not possible that I pay a lot of money to get something sounding worse than my Presonus HD7, that must not be able to happen, but, it happened to me. I learned a great lesson this time, dont go with the idea that what costs more is better, you can make the same mistake as myself.

I am sending back these cans to Thomann and will be considering to get the AT40X or the Fostex RP50 Mark3. Maybe the AKG 712Pro .

I am done with Beyerdynamic. WHAT A WASTE !!!!!

NC
Epic fail.

Bought these for my father, who already owned silver model of DT-880 Pro 250 Ohm.
And well... I thought that this is going to be exactly the same sounding pair of headphones as previous one.
Too bad that I didn't read the reviews.
This "Black Edition" model, although it's called DT-880 Pro 250 Ohm, sounds A LOT worse than the silver Pro one. Huge spike at mid-highs, and unusually scooped mids, a little bit quieter compared to previous silver model.
