Almost perfect, but...
Matteus Warner 22.07.2020
For the price it's obviously a no-brainer. The interface is solid and very well built. The pre-amps are amazing so as the sounds you can get from it. There's only a major drawback which made me return it and get the UMC204HD (for 20€ more): the direct output you get from the channels 1 and 2 is hard-panned,a nd by that I mean that if you plug a guitar or something else in for example the input 1 and you want to hear it directly without having to use a daw and avoid delays in the signal while playing, you will hear it only from your left headphone or left speaker. The UMC204 instead has a mono/stereo switch which allows to overcome that problem. All but that is very good in this interface, but I think that if you need to record an instrument it's a major issue (it's very annoying hear it through just one side of the headphones). I would strongly recommend the UMC204HD which is similar to this but gets you covered

PS
Excellent value for money
Pennylane Studio 24.12.2020
This interface is very good especially if you consider the cost. I've had quite a few Behringer products over the years and they have in the most part been good.
The UMC202HD is a real asset if you need to make good quality recordings quickly and easily. The lay out of the inputs, outputs and controls is intuitive so easy to master and the quality of the preamps belies it's modest cost.
One small gripe is that channel 1 is routed to the left output, channel 2 to the right while monertering recordings, although it is in stereo when mixing down, I mono-d my head phones while recording, so not to much of an issue for me.
I would be happy to use this in my studio professionally as it slotted in to my DAW seamlessly with the drivers on the Behringer website.
So to recap, easy to set up and use, quality is at the higher end for this type of interface and the build quality is excellent for the cost.
Again great customer service from Thomann, thanks.

VR
My favorite interfaces.
Victor Romaniuc 14.09.2024
Good stability, convenient use. Noiseless preamps. It is necessary to understand that the headphone output has an excessive gain reserve, but low power, so it is easy to overload. This is not a disadvantage, it is a feature.

Awesome

I bought this interface to use for my band recordings. We already have a mixer containing enough channels and for this reason I just need 2 channels on the interface, cause in this way it's possible to record stereo using the main output of the mixer. Although this is the main plane, I'd like to use this device to personal recordings, like bass guitar or guitar and voice directly on the interface input.
For the first impression I need to say that this interface is really interesting, and for this price, I thing it wouldn't be possible to find something better. We have 24 bits, 2 channels, which fits very good to my situation and I'm very satisfied with the Midas preamp performance as well. Besides that, the headphone amp is really good and I hope you can enjoy this interface like me.
I use windows and I didn't have any problem to download and install the drivers, everything is fine. I highly recommend!

very nice and easy to use
Violiyka 09.06.2022
It is my first audio interface. very easy to use and easy to carry to other places. it fits my violin case and is easily transported by train, plane, etc. I have already recommended dozens of fellow musicians and some of them have tried it and enjoyed the purchase. Does a very good job for its price and features.

Cheap and effective
Kaiviti 27.08.2021
I bought this along with a 'podcast' style mic because like many during the pandeminc I'm working from home and doing a lot more video calls and having a decent audio makes all the difference. I use a Sonntronics mic which is a dynamic so don't need the phantom power but note the phantom power is all ro nothing - ie you have it on both ports or none.

For my application - an audio interface to a small computer for video conference, it works well and is low noise. I haven't tried it with a DAW but I can't see why it would be fine for entry level.

Great for basic 2 channel recording
SoulWorks 28.08.2024
I have been impressed with this little interface. I've used it in a number of different scenarios, and it has never let me down. During COVID, I even used it to connect a condenser mic to my PC for conference calls ;o)

I bought this interface in order to help our singer who is very non-technical to be able to record her songs using a mic, guitar and a keyboard.
Preamps sound very decent using a microphone or an highZ instrument. They also accept line level signals.

This interface is an excellent value for money. It operates on all realistic samplerates. Drivers are solid on PC and you don?t even need to install any drivers on Mac.

There?s no control software/app for monitoring and routing, you can only adjust the analog no latency input monitoring vs daw monitoring. But this makes everything simpler for people who are not into technical side of recording.
One downside of this is, in analog monitoring mode, there is no option to pan the signal - the left input is routed left and right is routed right - which may sound strange when you want to monitor analog ipout signal.

At this price, there?s nothing to complain, Just a great interface at great value.

Good bang for the buck
forgottensky 06.02.2022
This interface delivered unexpectedly a very high quality that is not so commonly associated with Behringer products - the preamp is clean and has very low noise, the headphone amp was clear and free of distortion.

If I could complain at all, the drivers for Windows and Mac are just... Sub par. ASIO driver in Windows are quite unreliable and sometimes requires a full restart of the system to get it to work. In Mac, sometimes using it with DAW results in unexplainable distortion.

All-in-all it was still a very pleasant experience and if you're looking a bang-for-the-buck, you might be pleasantly surprised at this interface.

Just what I needed.
Vasislaw. 08.09.2020
I have been trying to connect my Yamaha keyboard to my laptop via midi for some without success. I came across audio interfaces on the Internet and decided to get the Behringer 202hd. All I needed to do was connect my keyboard to the Behringer using my electric guitar lead using the line out on my keyboard. Absolutely brilliant and now I can record my own backing tracks for myself and our daughter.
The build quality of the unit is excellent. Metal body instead of plastic. Being able to hear the recording using headphones via the unit instead through the laptop speakers is so much better. If you are not concerned about the complications with midi then this is an excellent buy.
