Boog to the future
Ottebol 05.10.2020
I have both the Neutron and the Boog (nickname for Moog clone Model D) that I purchased recently at Thomann who did excellent handling. I wish Behringer would use the industry standards for CV and GATE. I had to use MIDI in to play this Boog because I did not know that you'd need three patch points instead of two, involving a Y-splitter or spider-multiplier. This is a real disappointment for me. I was used to the standard CV/GATE ports but now I need work-arounds. Also the AUDIO IN only works when a (drone) key is pressed, so to play only the filters won't work well. Probably there's a workaround too, but why making things so complicated or limited? If this Boog had at least a hold function of some sort, for drone style play, I would be double happy. Of course I have not had yet enough experience to go deep into soundpeeping, but my first impression is that I am dealing with a machine that can produce real Moogy sound, and that's why I bought one. This is for me a keeper.

Tested it for 1 week. It is really fat and amazing sound.
Just got problems with 1st OSC. It is pitched for 1 step below. Did not find how to tune it till now, that's why Im using only second and third OSC.

Almost irresistable to not give it a try
Tunnel One 10.10.2019
PEople may hate behnringer as much as they like, and the work ehics of the company might be questionable, but they do deilver when it comes to the new, ever expanding, synth range.

The Model D is a very nice, well built mono synth. It sounds great and comes very close to a classic original which this was inspired by.

The synth has all expected features, and handling feels good. The knobs are a bit msall, but this is something we see commonly nowadays with the small sized devices and modular equipment.

Aside from the expected features the addition of daisy poly chaining multiple Model D's makes it also tempting to build your own analog poly synth.

It works as a desktop or eurorack device, with a minor downside being the loose bolts used to fix it in its case, instead of a full bar. Once you have dismounted it from the case to put it in a rack, you will have a struggle to mount it back with all screws in the original case.

All in all, for the price tag it has, this is an irresistable offer, that offers you the real classic power in a compact and afforable format.

I don't see why you would not give it a try.

the machine says yes!

Quality construction and finish. It looks and feels nice and sturdy. Can't/won't compare it to the original, but this thing sure sounds great in its own right. Very smooth and fat. Not too complicated with the modularisms either. Enjoying toying with it and will add it in an accessible spot.

Fat but a bit noisy.
Snythmstr 02.05.2022
Very nice feel on the buttons, sounds nice, reacts reasonably well to midi. After a while I noticed that it was a bit noisy (hiss/ 15khz ringing). Granted, this started after a studio switch so this issue may have been electrical. For the price, you are getting allot.

For basslines and leads, having 1 knob per function makes this synth very fun and good for beginners. No patch memory means you are forced to remember or when you are skilled at programming maybe this is a non-issue.

Sounds like a Minimoog but...
Springuy 30.08.2019
The sound is good, VERY close to a Minimoog reissue, maybe a bit thinner than a vintage one but no vintage sounds like one another even the same rev sometimes...
What i dislike though is the size, the quality of knobs and switches...
It makes it much more difficult to find the sweetr spots and to program it than a regular genuine Mini...
I wish Behringer would make a fullsize version with better knobs and a keyboard like they did with the Arp Odyssey for instance...
I would pay 3 times the price for it...
It helps, is usavble but lacks a real musical instrument's feeling that the original provides (I had two vintage minis, one I regret, the other not so much, really too unstable, pitch will always vary, so no go)

Amazing product for the price
Richeymcc 03.12.2019
Incredible clone of the MiniMoog. Use it for bass lines in every project. Imperceptible difference between it and the original. The form factor is smaller than original, but it's not something that bothers me. The extra patch points are a big plus.
Can't recommend enough!
