I already own a Behringer DC9, but after a ferw years service the LED seems to be giving up- so, after reading a few online reviews I opted for the Behringer CS 400 - which does look a little like a certain other pedal!.
The CS 400 has a plastic body- but I bought this for home/recording use- so no worries about amage- but, I think even for gigging this would be tough enough. We all know what compressors do, but what they do is very subtle, the DC9 gave my signal a huge boost- the CS400 doesnt do that but it does clean up the signal, and somehow "sweetens" the sound.
The level knob does give a boost, without any gain, which is useful, the tone dial is very subtle but I use it to dial back the bite from my tele.
The attack/sustain don't seem to adjust anything- perhaps they will work more on my Les Paul- time will tell
All in all, a sturdy, well made bit of kit, that does whatever it is that compressors do!
subtle, but its there
