This really helps with reflections on an untreated room, worth the investment.
I tried a couple large condensers, an Aston Spirit and an old Rode NT1 and got very good results, almost totally eliminated the room sound from my voice.
You do have to take care and test with the position of the mike because relative placement dramatically affects the results.
Best I got was with the mike capsule dead center with the Halo and on a flat plane with the edge (50% in and 50% out).

Aston Microphones Halo
Theodore Kontonis 01.06.2017
I bought the Aston Halo in order to use it when recording vocals in my home studio. The product arrived well and carefully packed. I unpacked it and begun to set it up. I set up the Halo with a Rode NT1-A. Set up was a breeze with my microphone and stand although there was not a manual in the box and that disappointed me somehow.
Ashton Halo is made from high quality materials and is bigger and wider than any other reflection filters which mean better results.
Overall, Halo performs brilliantly and takes little space. Halo is an awesome but a bit expensive product for the home studio owner.
Pros: Excellent build quality from high quality materials, awesome performance, set-up is a breeze, takes little space.
Cons: Manual absence, somehow expensive for the home or project studio owner.

Great for studio
techgrip 16.04.2021
I frankly didn't believe when we decided to make order that it will help somehow. We did it as a test.
This is very useful to focus sound on mic. We use it in director room, when recording is done at same room as console. Even though room is treated, difference is easily heard, moreover it is adding value to recording.

With this, regardless of the room, it would be easy to recording.

It actually works
DaeO 07.01.2023
I’ve read a lot of bad things about reflections. Nerds shouting about how useless these are and everyone should convert a room to a fullbled studio by buying a lot of acousric materials.
But with limited funding these things actually work better than expected.
I’ve read complaints regarding the colour but in the light i have at home it’s pretty enough
The quality is good and it looks good and it’s a good purchase

A good one
R. CT. 10.10.2024
Overall quality is stunning.
Be careful, the sound can be affected and become a bit muddy, somehow, depending on the microphone (since it can sound "dead" without reflections and air, with a kind of bump on the mid-low).
But most of the time it does the job perfectly.
You need a solid and stable mic stand.
