Quality, good looks and durability

After many years of using different makes I finally managed to buy an Ampeg bass rig and I am not disappointed. The PF-410 is a beautiful cabinet with strong build quality and a great sound. The 4 x 10 inch speakers comfortably handle the 500 watts of the Ampeg PF-500 bass amp which I bought to go with it. It's quality stuff but that's what you expect when you buy Ampeg. I also bought the covers along with the bundle and the customer service from Thomann has been great.

Probably the best bass cab I have used, better frequency response than the more expensive SVT cabs, more efficient too. When A/B testing alongside an Ampeg 8x10, the PF cab won hands down.

Ayant longuement hésité sur le choix d’une cabine à coupler à une tête Ampeg SVT 7, seule la PN-410 HLF aurait pu convenir pour sa puissance, mais ce cab est plutôt réservé à un son « moderne » avec ses hp en neodyme et aux joueurs de 5 cordes avec son évent pour les sub-graves en façade. Alors lorqu’Ampeg a sorti ce splendide Porta-flex hyper « vintage » PF-410 avec ces hp Eminences délivrant 800w rms, je n’ai pas hésité. Couplé à la SVT 7 , le son de la tête est reproduit avec une pureté, une réactivité et une chaleur exceptionnelle, même si je préfère couper le tweeter, ce qui me permet d’avoir LE son Ampeg. Les 800W rms sont bien là , pas de soucis (protégez vos oreilles !).
Conclusion : Réserve de puissance énorme, finitions de fabrication irréprochables, Hp Eminence, roulettes bien pratiques : je n’attends qu’une chose, me prendre un deuxième PF-410 pour utiliser pleinement les ressources de ma SVT 7…
