Great value for money!!!

I don't know what flawed guitar the some of the reviewers have received, mine is immaculate!!!
Great attention to detail and perfect QC! I can't find even the smallest flaw. The paint job is perfect, no flakes or dark spots, no gap at the neck joint, no warped neck either, it resonates really well unplugged, every switch and pot works as it should and in general the whole instrument plays and feels waaaaay above its price point, imho like a mexican Fender or even better! It easily gets 5/5 from me!!

No good

One of pickup switches doesn't work, one of tuning keys doesn't work..
Rusted frets, colour chips fall out as soon you take it out of box
Enough for me to send it back..
Overall build quality subpar for classic vibe series.

Be ready to sweat over it

First: This guitar is well worth the 289 euros it's currently priced at. No question. BUT, you must be ready to not have a perfect guitar right out of the box.

I remember when the original Classic Vibe series was released. Each model was an incredible value and the quality control was top notch. It was obvious that at that time Squier was trying to rid itself of the "cheap/beginner guitar" label and move into "gigging guitar" territory. I sold dozens in the music store I worked at and bought a few for myself.

This is not the case anymore. For some reason, the quality control on these new Squier models is all over the place. I have a 40th anniversary Jazzmaster that was the most busted guitar I've ever received - horrible fret work, wonky electronics, and the worst fretboard and neck I've ever had the displeasure of touching. The worst part of these new Squiers is the laurel fretboard. Dry and dusty and pits in the grain so big you can fit your pick in there.

This Mustang was no exception to the rule, but with a modicum of effort, it's become a favorite of mine. I LOVE the feeling of a short scale, and this Mustang is slinky in the best way. The pickups sound great, and while the switches aren't great, they won't need replacing anytime soon. The worst part of the guitar was, per usual, the fretboard and frets; but after polishing the frets and hydrating the fretboard I'm satisfied with how it plays. The neck is great, finished with a nice amber tint.

Overall, this has become a staple guitar in my collection and has inspired me to look into other versions of the Mustang. It is disappointing that Squier is churning out these things with no care, though. Be warned that you'll have to work to make this a great guitar

Très bonne surprise
Jean-Johnny 19.08.2023

really worth it
Philisac 15.08.2023
I got this one without trying, not a good idea in general but this time it was a dream. Incredible colour, very light and small body. The bridge is really what makes this one different and the sound combinations are special too, from some kind of tele twang to some crunchy saturation (in clean amp channel!). Finish, fretwork, everything is perfect, also intonation.
I love this guitar, which I had bought for the stupid reason I wanted an orange one with some personality. It is the one I play the most at the moment (out of ... too many :) ). Really worth trying!! And once again, I think Squire have really improved A LOT in the last year, I also bought a few others and there has not been any issue at all. A serious alternative to Mexican-made Fenders!!
